Legend (and The Devil Wears Prada) has always had it that the fashion world is bitchy, but the original supers are doing their bit to dispel that myth. Helena Christensen and Cindy Crawford – who have known each other since they ruled the runways with Naomi, Linda, Christy and Kate back in the ’90s – remain firm friends decades after they were storming Gianni Versace’s catwalks.
The spectacularly photogenic duo got together for a pre-Christmas reunion in New York, with Helena showing her friend some love in an Insta post that could warm the most Scrooge-like heart. “They don’t come any cooler, smarter, sweeter and more beautiful inside and out,” she said of Cindy, whose lookalike daughter Kaia Gerber is now walking the trail these women helped to blaze. See? No rivalry here.
“So good to see you again my friend,” Helena added on her Instagram Stories, where she has also been sharing snippets of the Christmas decorations at her divine Catskills home. It seems Christmas chez Christensen involves Elvis Presley’s rendition of “Silent Night” and a tree laden with nostalgic colourful baubles, which – appropriately for a supermodel – are right on trend this year.
