She’s one of the world’s best referential dressers, thanks to a stylist who treats fashion as storytelling, but last night, Zendaya outdid herself again. Wearing Valentino’s take on Spider-Man chic at the LA premiere of No Way Home, the actor did the unspeakable and made cobwebs look nothing short of resplendent.
Zendaya and her “image architect”“image architect” Law Roach are long-time friends of Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli, but her Bulgari ambassadorship paid dividends, too. The Vogue cover girl offset her modern Morticia Addams-esque gown with twinkling jewels and a bespoke mask that surely would have made Peter Parker reconsider his own morph head gear.
Speaking of Parker, Roach has also started dressing Tom Holland, who is incidentally the Euphoria actor’s boyfriend. Their couple’s red-carpet moments are quietly brilliant, with Zendaya playing the poster girl for comic book couture, and Tom letting her shine. His bespoke Celine and Prada suiting is not, however, to be scoffed at. Note the very specific shade of yesterday’s tailoring – a rich chocolate brown that brought out the colour of Zendaya’s glittering gossamer. Long may they stay entangled.
